I am a dreamer whose dream is to inspire people, to make a change for the better and to give hope. I am known for being confident and straightforward. Wherever I go and whoever I am with, I enjoy talking and having a good laugh. I consider myself as the voice of the voiceless because I express and convey the desires of other people without any hesitation. I use my voice to help the speechless and those who are afraid to speak. I have a passion for taking pictures and I sometimes convey my emotions and feelings to what I capture on camera. I also love to read inspirational and motivational books - I want to get inspired so I can inspire other people and I want to get motivated so I can also motivate others. I'm always trying to help those who are in need to the best of my ability. I promote optimism and I believe that everything happens for a reason.
2nd Yr BS Management Accounting, University of Cebu

Mary Margarette E. Española

Tuition Sponsors: Kendall Revilla and Sunny Someday
Misc. Sponsor: Marianne Eula Cerio, Kendall and Sunny Someday

I am Mary Margarette E. Española, 18 years old and currently taking up Bachelor of Science in Accountancy at the University of Cebu Banilad. Coming from a poor family with five siblings, I gained a great sense of responsibility at a very young age. There were a lot of things I wanted in life that I never had the chance to have. This only taught me to be more appreciative and grateful with what I have and to never stop dreaming of what I could achieve. My family and I had been through several storms, which molded me into the resilient woman I am today. When I am not studying, I perform my duties as a Youth president and I sometimes give tutorial sessions to earn some money. In my spare time, I often read books, watch documentaries or put my imagination into words through writing. I have always envisioned myself to be the breadwinner of my family regardless of the job I get in the future. Despite the unfortunate circumstances in life, I always have my eyes on the goal. I strongly believe that when the pain is deep, I must go deep in prayers.

Angel Grace B. Gacal

Tuition Sponsor: Shannen Tan
Misc Sponsor: Sunny Someday

Bold. Fiery. Courageous- these are the characteristics I would choose to label myself. Staying strong amidst the hardships and difficulties, there I stand like a supernova in the night sky. Like an eagle, I soar high even when the storm rages below. My deepest desires are what pushes me to go further. I was once a little girl who held big dreams close to her heart for a long time. I strived to going to school and despite all the circumstances, I managed to be on top. I am not the smartest but I study hard. I learned to become independent at a very young age. I am a goal-oriented, God-centered, and a fun-loving person rolled into one. I am known for my ability to adapt to change. Everytime I had breakdown in life, I would grab my pen and pad a wrote everything into poetry. I love to write and I am always thirsty for stories to write about. My main goal is to have a stable job and live a decent and fulfilled life with my family. I believe that someday I will also be in a position to inspire people to live a life of giving and not giving up, just like what Sunny Someday is doing for me. I am Allyza Marie P. Pausal, currently taking BS Medical Laboratory Science in Our Lady of Fatima University. I am an Eagle scout of the Boy Scouts of the Philippines (BSP) and have been serving the school for 4 years. I have been active in various extracurricular activities such as joining BSP campings and taking part in different organizations in school. I grew up in scouting and it was one of the highlights of my high school experience. I have met different people and learned a lot of things that were not taught inside the classroom. As a scout, I was able to develop my leadership skills, which I believe is a powerful skill to have. During my high school years, I have always tutored my friends and anyone who needed assistance with their studies. Among a lot of subjects, my favorites are chemistry and calculus. I also have great confidence in being able to sell anything, a skill that I have my Lola (grandmother) to thank for. I was raised by my grandmother and she taught me a lot of things at a very young age. I started as a street vendor until I became a saleswoman in a 'pasalubong' (souvenir) store. Everything I have experienced made me stronger and taught me to strive for greater heights. I hope to become a Medical Doctor someday, in God's perfect time. Being a Physician is my ultimate dream - a dream that I have envisioned ever since I was diagnosed with a disease. I aspire to become a Doctor to the Barrio (barangay) and make a difference in the healthcare system here in the Philippines. Most importantly, I want to serve the underserved. I also want to take this opportunity to give all the glory to the Lord and to extend my gratitude to the people behind this act of kindness. You're a hope and light to students who need it most.

Layout artist of The Technologian Student Press, member of the Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers CIT-U Student Chapter, member of the American Concrete Institute of the Philippines, member of the Honor Society CIT-U.

I am the type of person who keeps a lot of things to myself since I don’t want a lot of people to feel that I am vulnerable, I am the type of person who crams a lot but is still able to finish the job that I was given (because I join a lot of extracurricular activities) , I value my friends a lot but I am not that expressive, I treasure my closest friends, I always give way for others, I am the type of person that shows my actions instead of speaking about it, I am sincere and friendly in my own way, some people might misunderstood me a lot because on how moody I might get but my closest friends know who I am and the things that I am dealing with. I hate injustice, I am wise and thoughtful, I hate being pushed around and I am able to stand for myself and for others. I like music a lot, I was a bass drummer in a marching band. I play the electric guitar in a cover band. I really like taking photos and making short films. Editing and making videos are a few of my favorite hobbies (even though I only borrow equipment like camera and computer from my friends and relatives). I like creating graphic designs. I like playing chess. I like reading novels, light novel, webtoon and etc. In the future hopefully I want to be an Environmental Engineer, a specialization in Civil Engineering, to contribute fixing the biodiversity as we made a disruption towards it. We people should find way to keep the balance of the ecosystem and that’s why I want to be a part of it. As a person who lost both parents at a young age who can’t give back to them, I found a way to offer my self in contribution in fixing our world for the good of everybody not just for the people but all of the living and non-living things on earth. I am hoping that in the future I would be able to help others who are still looking for their lives' meaning. I want to help them in finding the answers within their selves. I want to help people move forward and lead them to places where they haven’t even dreamed of.

I'm in my third year of studies in Accountancy program in PHINMA University of Pangasinan. I'm glad that I am halfway in reaching my dream of becoming a successful CPA. When I was in my grade school, every time the teacher asked me what I wanted to be in the future, I always answered them "to become an astraunot". Becoming an astronaut was really my wildest dream. I wanted to explore the space and live with all of my mind's dreams. But as I grow up and saw all the demands of life, I became practical. I took accountancy program since it is a cheaper course. And I know that there are a lot of opportunities waiting for me if I finish this program. However, my desire to explore the space still remains in my heart. It never fades. I'm a typical guy. A family-oriented and not a self-centered man. I study hard but of course, still have time for my social life. I always have the heart for people. I wanted to serve them the best thing I can. And I am just a one-call-away friend. I was known for my leadership skill for I was in service for more than 8 years. I became an SSG President at the age of 16. During my grade school and junior High school, I made myself active academically. I joined several competitions such as Quiz bees, impromptu speaking, poster making and other academic competitions in order for me to enhance my confidence and skills and develop my God-given talents. I also love travelling. I want to travel the world and taste the different cuisines from different countries together with my family. I want to spoil them with the things they deserve. I also want to organize my own charities and scholarship programs as soon as I get a job just like what ma'am Jamilah did. I would like to share every success that I get to all the people in need. Playing crossword puzzles, soduko and 4-pics-one word game are also one of my favorite past times.

I've always wondered who or what I'm intended to be. The only certainty I have is that I
am expected to be greater than I have been. Growing up, I've seen life as a perfect blend of
sunshine and hurricane, a reflection of rainbow after rain. My faith has been tested as I journey the path towards achieving my dreams. Many obstacles arose along the way, but I was able to overcome them and progressed this far. I know life has to offer more and when life throws us solid rocks, be firm and throw them back with positivity we got. 2nd Yr BS Accountancy, Univeristy of San Jose Recoletos

Ryan M. Calaunan

Tuition and Allowance Sponsor: Atty. Philip Tidoso

Hi, I'm Ryan, a second-year BS Accountancy student at the University of San Jose Recoletos. I'm a jack of all trades, master of none but oftentimes better than a master of one. I am also a Fil-Am, Half Filipino, Half Amazing! Kidding aside, I chose accountancy because I want to become a CPA-Lawyer someday. Aside from the fact that there's no CPA and Lawyer in our family, I believe that these professions are something that would help me further my understanding of how the world operates and perhaps take part in it in the near future.

Moreover, my interest in the corporate world and my drive to learn more about the world of trading, particularly in stocks and cryptocurrency are some of the factors that influenced me to get this course. Whenever I am not busy, I watch movies about crime, thrillers, and life documentaries. My mantra in life is “Hard work: a spark today, a flame tomorrow.”
